GRASSES & SOIL

Some of the main components of a green roof are the types of vegetation and soil that are going to be used for the green roof. Depending on environmental factors such as temperature, amount of rainfall, climate, etc., the types of plants and soil being used will differ from region to region, so it is important to look into all of these factors and choose the right grasses and soils to use to make sure that the green roof will actually be sustainable.

AMERICAN GREEN ROOF GRASS INDEX

Green Roofs are capable of benefiting all different types of climates and areas of the U.S., so we decided to create a Grass Index for the U.S. so that if you were curious as to what type of grass you should use for your specific climate, then you would have this Index to reference to (9).
